Business Tour: University of Nebraska at Omaha Mammal Hall (South Campus)

Networking / Event Registration & Check-in: 5:00 to 5:15 p.m. (Meet at Room 122)

Tour & Presentation: 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.

Followed by Social: 6:45 p.m. to ???

Meet at Mammal Hall (Room 122) for check-in and then we'll be led on a building tour, starting promptly at 5:30 p.m. Classes are in session, so we won't get into every classroom, but you will be able to see enough to gain an appreciation of the facility. The tour will be followed by a presentation by Dean Louis Pol in the lecture hall. Then, adjourn with us to the LIV Lounge in nearby Aksarben Village (2279 S. 67 Street) for drinks and appetizers (included with all paid registrations).

The interior of the three-story, 120,000-square-foot building has many impressive features including:

  • An atrium with interactive, touch-screen historical and informational digital displays
  • Breakout rooms for student collaboration
  • A two-story 196-seat auditorium
  • Lounge areas for students to study and relax
  • A café serving food supplied by Omaha’s own Wohlner’s Grocery
  • Bridges and skywalks linking areas of the building
  • Glass-walled classrooms and meeting rooms outfitted with computer hookups, LCD monitors and other technology to enhance learning
  • Laboratories for investment science, innovation and entrepreneurship, executive decision making and technology

Technology that will enhance the education process and accomodate a wide range of presentations Mammel Hall is UNO's first LEED certified building on campus. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is the U.S. Green Building Council's benchmark for sustainable design. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

The cost is $15 for current IFMA Midlands Chapter members, and $20 for non-members.

Please note: This presentation has *not* been approved for continuing education credit.

Pre-Registration is Encouraged. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 13.
